Company History
SCAN Business Systems has been
providing Enterprise wide administrative software
solutions to Institutions of Higher Education since
1986. SCAN dedicates all of its resources towards
the development, implementation and support of one
product - Campus Cafe.
In the late
80's, SCAN first released Scanware, a legacy
Financials solution written in RPG (greenscreen).
In the next ten years, SCAN continued to add new
clients and additional modules to Scanware.
As the demand
for Windows increased in the mid 90's, SCAN was
confronted with the decision as to which technology
to use to re-release Scanware. Not only was it
critical to select a foundation that would continue
to be mainstream, but it was important to select the
technology that would never tie clients to any
proprietary platform technologies. Each
institution should not only have the ability to
select an administrative solution that is right for
its needs, but it should also have the ability to
select it's preferred server and database platform.
In 1999, SCAN re-released its Enterprise solution,
Campus Cafe, written in Java. Today, it
remains the only truly integrated, Java based
solution in the market.
